SHL Deductive, Numerical and Inductive Reasoning Tests

SHL’s new suite of interactive and adaptive ability tests are now even more compatible with mobile devices as well as traditional laptop/PC’s.  SHL tests are designed to measure Deductive Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning and Inductive Reasoning.

SHL’s adaptive tests use a common level of difficulty as the starting point for candidates. The candidate’s answer to a question then determines the next question that is presented in the test. If the candidate answers correctly, a more difficult item will be presented next. If the candidate answers incorrectly, an easier item will follow. In this way, adaptive tests focus in on a candidate’s true level of ability.

SHL’s Deductive Reasoning test assesses verbal reasoning ability in a more robust way, with a much lower reliance on just reading comprehension. SHL research has shown that particularly in positions at the Graduate level and higher, reasoning ability is much more predictive of job performance than verbal ability.

For operational roles, SHL also offer a Verify Checking Test and Verify Calculation Test to assess a candidate’s accuracy when working with different types of data.
