The Client: Global Healthcare Provider

STERIS, a global leader in sterilisation and surgical products, partnered with KSL Training to strengthen the leadership capabilities across its business.

When STERIS launched a new super centre, consolidating three previously independent facilities under one roof, they knew that equipping their people with strong leadership skills was only part of the challenge. They needed more than training; they needed cultural integration, team cohesion, and performance alignment across newly formed, mixed teams.

Claire Sides, UK National Head of Training, Learning and People Development engaged KSL to design and deliver a bespoke leadership and team-building programme tailored specifically for this unique post-amalgamation environment. The training was delivered in-person across multiple sites for the 144 diverse learners.

  1. Discovery Visits:  Our lead trainer engaged with teams on-site to understand their roles, challenges, and culture.
  2. Tiered Training:  For the tailored Leadership Development Programme
  • Team Leaders & Supervisors:  2-day line management skills training.
  • Production & Operations Managers:  2-day leadership development.
  • Senior Leaders:  3-day leadership development programme.
  1. Leadership in Action:  Targeted team building for a site facing specific multiple challenges.
  2. Ongoing Support:  Pre-course reading, communication style assessments, journals, and coaching guides to embed the learning.
  3. Feedback-Driven Refinements:  Regular check-ins ensured content remained relevant and responsive. Participant feedback also contributed to areas of development within the Steris business.
  4. Sustainable Impact:  Programmes are now regularly delivered for newly appointed managers with CPD accreditation.
