Team Psychometrics
Team Psychometrics are an ideal tool for team development. The psychometric tests used help management teams understand team behaviours and the ultimate contribution each team member brings to their team. Using SHL's OPQ Occupational Personality Questionnaire as the basis of this team analysis, automated reports can be generated to identify each team member's preferred leadership styles, team types and reporting styles. A further report can be produced that identifies the team member's contribution to achieving the team goals which, when analysed across the team, can easily identify team development needs leading to enhanced team performance.
At KSL Training, we then provide a qualified facilitator to work with small or large sized teams to explain each of the team behaviours and characteristics in an interactive and fun way. In line with your specific team building goals, the facilitator will then help the team to identify the team's development steps to improve their overall performance as a team.
As part of the preparation to a facilitated team building event using team psychometrics, we ask all team members to complete the on-line OPQ Occupational Personality Questionnaire to ensure accurate self insights can be conveyed on the day. The automated report that is then generated will be selected based upon your specific goals, but to provide you with some examples of the team development reports that can be provided, please see below.
OPQ32 Occupational Personality Questionnaire:
The on-line OPQ32 Occupational Personality Questionnaire takes about 45 - 60 minutes to complete with no right or wrong answers. The OPQ is designed to identify how an individual prefers to behave at work and in a development context provides useful insights to the individual and their manager on their strengths and talents as well as potential areas that could be developed further. The results are clearly based on an individual's own perception, so further exploration through feedback and discussion is vital to confirm the results. For further information please see our SHL Candidate Tips or SHL Client Help.
OPQ32 Team Types and Leadership Styles Profile:
The OPQ32 Team Types and Leadership Styles Profile enables you to acquire insights into how a team member views their preferred behaviours at work in terms of their role within a team, their leadership style and how they like to be managed. Sharing and communicating this information in a structured way can assist with the overall team development. The report is broken down into three key sections:
The OPQ32 Team Impact Report:
This OPQ32 Team Impact Report is based on the premise that all teams need to work together to achieve shared goals and objectives. To achieve their goals and objectives, the team need to work through four crucial stages:
Naturally, these tasks are linked to the team types or team roles that team members prefer to take, and the report will highlight the level of strength that each team member is likely to contribute to each stage of the process.
This will enable the team to identify it's strengths and areas for development, as well as the type of person most suited to join the team when a vacancy occurs. In a recruitment context, this report provides you with an interview guide with suggested questions and areas of evidence to seek.
Once the appropriate team psychometrics have been completed by each team member, we can then provide you with a qualified facilitator to run a team building event that will best accommodate the needs of your team as well as time, style and budget.
