Belbin Questionnaire
The Belbin Team Roles (Team Types) Questionnaire is widely used today to help increase the awareness and ultimate performance of teams as a result of the extensive research undertaken by Dr Meredith Belbin in the late seventies at Henley Management College. During this research it became evident that teams comprising a balance of mixed team roles outperform teams without this balance.
At KSL Training, we provide an experienced team building facilitator to work with small and large sized teams to explain each of the nine Belbin Team Roles (Types) in an interactive and fun way, help the team to improve their overall performance as a team and bring out learning conclusions about how team working and performance can be improved further.
As part of a facilitated team building session, we ask all participants to complete the on-line Belbin Team Roles Questionnaire to ensure accurate self insights can be conveyed on the day.
The Belbin Team Roles Questionnaire:
The on-line Belbin Team Roles questionnaire takes about 20 minutes to complete with no right or wrong answers. The Belbin questionnaire is designed to highlight the team role each team member takes within a team and the associated behaviours that they are likely to display with the role. The questionnaire presents the participant with a choice of behaviours that are displayed within a team and the participant has to decide which behaviour best describes themselves whilst at work. Once the team member has completed the questionnaire, an automated report will be produced for self review.
The Belbin Team Roles Reports:
There are a number of options offered from the computer generated Belbin Team Roles profile reports which you may like to consider purchasing prior to your team building event. We list below some of the more popular reports but are happy to advise on other reports should these not suit your overall goal:
If you are wanting your team to gain some initial insights into their preferred Team Roles and how that affects the way the team works, this is the team building event for you. We can facilitate this workshop for you between 3 to 4 hours, dependent upon the time available. As with all our team building events, we will design the right workshop for you and your team. However, to provide you with some idea of the type of team building event we can offer using the on-line Belbin Team Roles Questionnaire, we list an outline of an example workshop:

The team building workshop will provide each team member with:
Team Roles Workshop Outline:
With a day available to explore your team members' preferred Belbin Team Roles / Types and the impact this has on the team's effectiveness, we have an opportunity to explore the team's Belbin Team Role preferences in more detail and add a team exercise to apply their learning from the morning. The team exercise in the afternoon can be designed to meet your specific goal for the day and can be indoor or outdoor and as fun and challenging as you wish it to be.
